PDF Pattern FAQs
I just purchased a PDF pattern. How do I get it?
There will be a download link in your account that you can click to download the pattern. Alternately, you can choose to have the link sent to your email. Make sure you download the pattern promptly, as the link expires 30 days after purchase.
How do I print my PDF pattern?
Open the PDF pattern in Adobe Acrobat Reader (free download here: https://get.adobe.com/reader/). Print the pattern pages at 100% (no scaling). To do this, make sure your scaling is set to “None” on your Adobe Reader Print Screen. There is a 1” x 1” Test Square on each pattern page for you to make sure it has printed at full scale.
What size paper do I need to print the pieces?
US Standard Letter Size Paper (8.5” x 11”) or A4 (210 × 297 mm or 8.27” × 11.69”) for International customers.
Can I share my PDF pattern with a friend, relative or sewing group?
Absolutely not. Digital (PDF) patterns may NOT be shared between people. Please purchase a pattern for each person that will use it. The pattern pieces, instruction text, illustrations, and photos may not be copied, shared, sold, or redistributed in anyway per copyright laws. Doing so will be a violation of those laws.
What is your return policy?
Due to the nature of digital files, no returns will be accepted and no refunds or exchanges will be issued unless there has been an error on our part.
Can I sell finished items that I make from your patterns?
Absolutely! The legal line that appears on our sewing patterns means that YES, you can sell these items if you are an independent sewer and if each and every item is made by YOU. If you have employees or even a small circle of friends sewing for your small business, you must purchase a separate pattern for each seamstress... making copies of a printed or digital sewing pattern is illegal! We love to support cottage businesses that use our designs. If you use the hashtag #modkid on your social media platforms, we will do our best to share your creations.
Can I contact someone if I get stuck on a step in a pattern?
Feel free to email Patty at firstname.lastname@example.org or Courtney at email@example.com with your sewing pattern questions. We will do our best to answer in a timely manner. However, if you require a faster response, post your question on our Modkid Fan Group on Facebook, as one of our team members or many fans is likely to be around and available to lend a hand. If you are not yet a member, join here: MODKID Fan Group.
How can I become a pattern tester for MODKID?
We at MODKID like to use testers with all levels of expertise, from beginner to advanced, to make sure the pattern works and makes sense to everyone, and we like to test every size and version available in each pattern. We require that our testers fill out a feedback form at the end of the testing period (which generally runs 10-14 days, depending on the complexity of the project) and provide professionally shot modeled photos (so that we can clearly see the fit of the garment). Although we have people who have tested for us for years, we also like to add new members to our testing group periodically. From time to time we post “Tester Calls” on our MODKID Fan Group on Facebook, so please join the group so you don’t miss out on the next one at MODKID Fan Group.
